Rediscover
the fun of singing traditional choral music as well as new
arrangements with a decidedly theatrical style in ChoralSounds
Northwest, a 60+-member mixed adult chorus. Welcoming singers of
all ages from high school to retirement, CSN is truly a
community chorus, and provides a welcome musical home for folks
from all walks of life.
Singers who decide to join CSN will be asked to sing a short excerpt from any song of their choice - with or without accompaniment - in a private session with the conductor. Previous choral singing experience and the ability to sight-read are desired, but not required, for membership.
Rehearsals are held St. Bernadette's Church (128th & Ambaum, Burien) in the Parish Hall, from 7:00 until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. In addition, there is usually one all-day rehearsal on a weekend during the preparation cycle for each concert, and singers are typically required to be at the theater every evening the week before each show opens for technical and dress rehearsals. No more than three absences from rehearsals per concert period are allowed.
CSN members pay dues of $60 for each concert period. Dues scholarships are available for singers based upon need. Dues cover the cost of music and folder, as well as a portion of general operating expenses. There is required uniform concert attire, which is the singer's responsibility to obtain.
Auditions for the 2010-11 Concert Season are ongoing. To schedule an audition please email info@nwassociatedarts.org or call us at 206.246.6040.
